Gone: A Book Review
By Sakshi Lende
Gone by Michael Grant, is a sci-fi novel set in the town of Perdido Beach, California. It was a normal day, and everything was going fine until the adults disappeared. Poof. Just like that. Gone in less than a second. After everyone finally calms down, the kids regroup and they come to a stunning conclusion. Everyone over the age of 15 was gone. And then: When you turn 15 you will disappear as well. After saving a girl from a fire set during the chaos, Sam Temple, the main protagonist, is voted the leader of what they call the FAYZ, short for Fallout Alley Youth Zone. But they face other challenges apart from disappearing. There is an opaque wall surrounding them, cutting them off from the outside wall, and it is indestructible. On top of that, the kids from a nearby academy, where all the rich kids go, are trying to take control as well, led by Caine, the antagonist. Kids take sides, and it soon becomes the rich academy kids against the town kids. But one thing still remains. What will happen when your time runs out?
This book is a thrilling tale; one that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. The multiple plot twists make sure you don’t get bored, and the action never stops. Every page is packed with excitement, but will leave you anticipating the fate of the characters. As you read on and on, you feel like you are actually in the book, experiencing everything alongside the characters. As the tension grows, you find yourself taking sides. Sam or Caine? Which one is right? You try to think about how to solve the problems, how to fix it all, and then are shocked to find out that what you were expecting is the opposite of what actually happens.

Book Review: Tell Us We’re Home by Marina Budhos
By Sarah Hajjar
Tell Us We’re Home is a realistic fiction paperback that was published in 2010. The characters Jaya, Lola, and Maria have nothing in common except that their mothers are maids and nannies. When Jaya’s mother gets accused of stealing from some valuable jewelry from her employer, everything goes downhill. Her friends try everything to find evidence that her mother is not a thief but it seems as if they already have given up when Lola breaks up the friendship. Will they ever become friends again? Read the book to find out.
Tell Us We’re Home is heartbreaking in many ways. The book will touch heart from the happiest moments to the saddest moments. Making friends is hard for them especially when you work for the same students in your class and you can probably relate to them, not in those most dramatic way but you could definitely relate. Reading Tell Us We’re Home is a pleasure and you’ll definitely want to finish the book. What’s you favorite book?

Book Review: Wonder
By Sarah Hajjar
Wonder is about a boy named August who was born deformed. After many years of being home schooled due to medical issues and August’s self-conscious, his parents want to put him in a school called Breacher Prep. He meets friends along the way in the school year. He made a friend Summer, Jack, but I don’t think he’s so well with Julian.
Wonder is a a very good book. What makes it so special and unique is that it puts in different perspectives of the story. For example, August got in a fight with Jack for something Jack said. But on Jack’s perspective of the story, he has no idea why August is mad at him. It makes the novel twice as more interesting. To find out about August's adventure while being in school, go read the book and find out!

She ruined her two front teeth and now she is worried she will now have to get braces.
